Iran has threatened to resume the operation of deactivated centrifuges and increase uranium enrichment to 20% as the next potential measures of deviation from the terms of the 2015 nuclear deal, Reuters reports.
«If the parties to the transaction, particularly the Europeans, will not seriously fulfill its commitments, the third step will be stronger, more determined and a little unexpected,» –said the official representative the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Iran Abbas Mousavi on Monday, July 8.
Recall, according to the atomic energy Organization, Tehran has exceeded the permitted nuclear deal uranium enrichment level of 3.67%. Thus, the figure was brought to 4.5%. At the same time, the International atomic energy Agency (IAEA) reported that it was still checking that figure.
In mid-may, Iran officially ceased to comply with some obligations of the nuclear deal – a year after the United States unilaterally withdrew from the Treaty and restored sanctions against Tehran.
The representative of the Iranian nuclear Agency said that Tehran will no longer comply with restrictions on the production of low-enriched uranium and heavy water.
