The ambassadors of the G7 countries demanded that the outgoing President of Ukraine Petro Poroshenko to hand over power to the new head of state, Vladimir Zelensky “smoothly”.
Ambassadors of the G7 countries held a meeting with the current President of Ukraine Petro Poroshenko. This was reported by French diplomats.
The ambassadors thanked the head of state for the progress made in the sphere of reforms and expressed hope that the transfer of power will be smooth.
“The G7 ambassadors called for a smooth transfer of power so that Ukraine can continue to move in the direction it has chosen,” the statement said.
Poroshenko directly urged the G7 and the European Union to strengthen support for Ukrainian reforms, as well as the process of restoring territorial integrity.
It should be noted that in Ukraine the date of the inauguration ceremony of the new President Vladimir Zelensky has not yet been determined. For it, the politician accused deputies of the Verkhovna Rada of a lie.
