Accusations, threats and intimidation: How Lavrov and Pompeo talked on the phone about Venezuela
Russian Foreign Minister Sergei Lavrov and us Secretary of state Mike Pompeo exchanged harsh statements on the situation in Venezuela during a telephone conversation. This was told by the press service of the foreign ministries of Russia and the United States.
It is reported that the phone call took place on the initiative of the American side. Pompeo called to accuse Russia and Cuba of destabilizing the situation in Venezuela, as well as interference in the Affairs of this country. In response, Lavrov reminded the Secretary of state about the interference of his own country in the Affairs of a sovereign state. «The continuation of aggressive steps is fraught with the most serious consequences,» Lavrov warned his American colleague.
